Here’s a pretty nifty display – it’s a concave curved display sample from AU Optronics utilizing a TFT LCD glass substrate with a curve radius of 100mm.  There’s also a specially designed curved backlighting unit that provides uniform brightness and contrast across the surface of the display. AU Optronics showed off the display back at SID 2008 and plans on showing off the panel at Display Taiwan 2008 which will be held between June 11 and 13. Future applications for this technology include watches and dashboards.
