ASUS has confirmed that the EeePC notebook could “evolve” into a non-clamshell touchscreen system. ASUS Australia National Retail Manager Emmanuele Silanesu, mentioned that the EeePC division was “looking at other form factors rather than just a clamshell.”  He also hinted that a touchscreen form factor device could be seen as early as the Taiwan Computex show which begins on June 3rd. It’s not clear whether ASUS would brand such a device under the EeePC name simply because it has a different purpose than the EeePC.
