Wal-Mart rumored to begin selling sub-$300 Blu-ray player starting Memorial Day Weekend
Hoping to spur the Blu-ray market, Wal-Mart is rumored to be planning to start selling a Blu-ray standalone player for as low as $298 this coming Memorial Day weekend. The player supposedly getting this treatment will be a Funai manufactured unit selling under the Magnavox brand – the Magnavox NB500MH9. This player supports Profile 1.1 and will also have picture-in-picture functionality. The same player will be sold at Best Buy under the Insignia brand beginning in mid to late-July for a price of $347.99.
