Aigo MID

Aigo MID 2

The folks at UMPCFever.com have managed to get their hands on the aigo MID – an Intel Atom based Mobile Internet Device (that’s where the MID comes from). The device comes with the Intel Atom Z500 processor which runs at 800MHz and comes with 512 kB of L2 cache. The aigo MID certainly looks interesting enough. It runs a variant of Linux called Midinux (version 2.0) and also comes with a simple graphical user interface. The unit comes with a nice 4.8 inch, 800 x 480 resolution display which should be great on the eyes. It also sports a slideout QWERTY keyboard but be aware it’s not a very big keyboard. There’s 3.5 G support in the form of HSDPA which is a nice plus but it’s hard to say if a device like this is truly worth it – not if you have sub $500 dollar devices like the Eee PC. You can read more about it by checking out UMPCFever here (the English is slightly choppy).
