Samsung continues to drive their Blu-ray product line with the introduction of two new Blu-ray products – their fourth generation BD-P1500 standalone player and their second generation Blu-ray Home Theater system – the HT-BD2F. There really isn’t much in the way of specs for either of these two products but here’s what Akihabara News has published thus far:
Samsung BF-P1500 features:
- Supports Blu-ray, DVD, and CDs
- Full HD playback
- Dual decoding support – offers Bonus View function where you can watch picture-in-picture contents at the same time as the main program
- Bookmark functionality
- Internet and USB memory allows for easy firmware upgrades
- BD Live support planned
The Samsung HT-BD2F Home Theater system features:
- Similar to the HT-BD2
- Supports various HD surround decoding formats including Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital Plus, DTS-HD, and lossless DTS-HD Master Audio
- Reproduces audio up to 50KHz
- 5.1 channel system for the BD2F while the BD2 offers 7.1 channels
- Lower price than the HT-BD2
