3K Computers Longitude 400 Mini-Notebook
Since we’re on the topic of mini-notebook/ultra-portable systems, here’s yet another vendor getting into this growing market. The company is called 3K Computers and their mini-notebook system is called the “3K Longitude 400 Mini-Notebook PC. The system is priced at $399 which as you can imagine means this system isn’t quite as powerful as the Eee PC nor the HP Mini-Note. You get a 400MHz processor inside (they won’t say what the processor is exactly), only 512MB of RAM, and a 1GB 4GB flash drive. Gee.. for 100 dollars more, I get a beefier (but still weak) processor, more solid storage space, and the HP brand name (if that means anything to you). Sorry but the 3K system seems like a hard sell to me.
If you’re interested in knowing more of the specs, here it is:
- 7 inch WVGA (800 x 480) widescreen display
- 400MHz 32 bit Single Core processor (but what processor is this exactly??)
- 512MB of memory
1GB4GB internal flash drive- Linux OS
- 10/100 Ethernet
- 802.11 Wi-Fi
- Three USB 2.0 ports
- Full-size notebook keyboard
- Touchpad
- HD Audio
- Integrated speakers
- Media Card Reader
