Apple announced new updates to both their MacBook and MacBook Pro lineup of notebook systems. The new upgrades include the latest Intel Core 2 Duo processors, larger hard drives, and standard 2GB of memory for most models.

The new MacBook Pros now include the latest NVIDIA GPUs with up to 512MB of video memory and Apple’s Multi-Touch trackpad which was first used on the new Apple MacBook Air notebook. Other new specs of the MacBook Pro include:

  • Up to 2.6GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor with up to 6MB of shared L2 cache
  • Up to 4GB of 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM memory
  • Up to 300GB HDD
  • NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT graphics with up to 512MB of video memory
  • Illuminated keyboard

The new MacBook systems include faster processors and larger hard drives across all three models in the lineup. The white models now come in either a 2.1GHz or 2.4 GHz processor model. The 2.1 GHz processor system comes with a 120GB HDD while the 2.4GHz system comes with a 160GB HDD. The black model comes with a 2.4GHz processor and 250GB HDD. All 2.4GHz MacBooks come with 2GB of memory.
