Dell now offers Penryn processors for Inspiron notebooks
If you’ve been waiting for Intel’s Penryn processors to show up in Dell’s Inspiron lineup, then your wait is no more. Dell is now offering Intel Core 2 Duo “Penryn” processors in their Inspiron 1720 and Inspiron 1420 notebook models (though strangely not with their Inspiron 1525 model).
One possible configuration for the 1720 includes the following:
- Intel Core 2 Duo T9300 running at 2.5GHz
- Windows Vista Home Premium Edition
- 17 inch widescreen display (1440 x 900)
- 128MB NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS graphics
- 3GB memory
- 250GB HDD
- DVD writer
- HD audio
- 6 cell battery
The price for the above configuration is $1299.
For the Inspiron 1420, you can create a configuration with an Intel Penryn processor featuring:
- Intel Core 2 Duo T8300 processor running at 2.4Ghz
- Windows Vista Home Premium Edition
- 17 inch widescreen display (1280 x 800)
- 128MB NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS
- 2GB memory
- 250GB HDD
- DVD writer
- 6 cell battery
- HD Audio
