If you’re a fan of Apple Aperture, you’ll be happy to hear that the company has released its next major version Aperture 2. For those of you unfamiliar with Aperture, it’s Apple’s higher end photo editing and management software application. Aperture 2 introduces over 100 new features that make the application faster, easier to use, and ever more powerful. Some of the new features of Aperture 2 include:

  • A new streamlined user interface – navigate between Viewer and Browser modes with single key command
  • An new image processing engine
  • New imaging tools for highlight recovery, color vibrancy, local contrast definition, soft-edged retouching, vignetting, and RAW fine-tuning
  • Integrates with .Mac Web Gallery
  • Export images in the background
  • Quick Preview support for RAW images

Any image within the Aperture library can be accessed directly from products such as iMovie, Keynote, Pages, and even Leopard Mail.

You can purchase Aperture 2 now for a suggested retail price of $199.  The upgrade price for previous owners of Aperture is $99 dollars.
