Sunday was certainly an exciting day for Sony Ericsson has they announced a bevy of new mobile phones. I’ll start with the new Sony Ericsson Walkman mobile phone – the W980. According to Ben Padley, Head of Music Marketing at Sony Ericsson, the W980  “sets a new standard for music on your phone.” The phone places special emphasis on music playback by integrating unique audio enhancing technology into the handset. Features of the W980 include:

• Intuitive music access and control
• 240×320 resolution display with 262K colors
• 8GB of internal memory
• Clear bass delivers distortion free sound
• Integrated FM transmitter which allows you to send music to FM radio receivers
• Integrated stereo speakers
• TrackID feature
• Choice of eight equalizer presets
• UMTS/HSDPA 2100
• GSM/GPRS 850/900/1800/1900 support
• Available in Piano Black
• Measures 3.6 x 1.8 x 0.7 inches
• Weighs 100 grams

The Sony Ericsson W980 will be available in select markets starting in Q3 of 2008.
