Digital Trends reviews the Yamaha YSP-4000 Digital Sound Projector and finds it really does work!
Digital Trends has published a review of the Yamaha YSP-4000 Digital Sound Projector here on their website. The YSP-4000 is Yamaha’s latest single unit surround sound speaker system with an MSRP of $1799.95. Features include:
- Supports XM HD Surround Sound
- Supports optional YDS-10 Universal Dock for Apple iPod
- XM Satellite Ready
- 1080p compatible HDMI support
- Technology support includes Dolby Pro Logic II, DTS, SRS TruBass, IntelliBeam, CINEMA DSP Digital, Compressed Music Enhancer
- Analog video to HDMI digital video up-conversion
- Digital Amplifier built in (120 watts total power: 2W x 40 + 20W x 2)
- 7 CINEMA DSP Programs – three movies, three music, and sports
- Video upscaling to 1080i/720p
- Front panel mini jack
- Built-in FM tuner
- IR pass through out
Here’s the verdict from Digital Trends:
Yes, you can actually have a sleek plasma or LCD mounted to a wall AND have impressive sound to go along with it. Approximately 75% of flatscreen owners use the built-in speakers, but with quality sound projectors like the YSP-4000 hitting the shelves, we expect that number to drop significantly as people start to discover the punch this little device packs.
