Sony adds four new W-series Cyber-Shot digital cameras
Sony last week launched several new models to their W-Series of Cyber-Shot digital cameras. The new models include the 10.1 megapixel DSC-W170, the 8.1 megapixel DSC-W150, the 8.1 megapixel DSC-W130, and the 7.1 megapixel DSC-W120. Here’s what you need to know about these four digi-cams. Common features include:
- Wide range of colorful choices
- “Smile Shutter” mode which automatically captures an image when your subject smiles
- Improved face detection technology – able to distinguish adults and children
- D-Range Optimizer – retrieves picture detail in photos with harsh highlights or dark shadows
- Semi-manual focus
- Improved auto focus system including macro ranges
- Super SteadyShot image stabilization
- Sensitivity up to ISO3200
- In-Camera Editing functions
Sony DSC-W170:
- 10.1 megapixel
- Carl Zeiss 5x optical zoom lens with wide angles of view – 28mm-140mm
- 2.7 inch LCD screen along with eye-level viewfinders
- Intelligent scene recognition technology
- Advanced image management functionality – search for photos by date and smile. Images can be displayed by date or in a calendar view
- Slideshow function with photos selected using advanced filtering techniques
- Available in champagne, red, black, and silver
- Available in April for $300
Sony DSC-W150:
- 8.1 megapixel
- Carl Zeiss 5x optical zoom lens with wide angles of view – 30mm-150mm
- 2.7 inch LCD screen along with eye-level viewfinders
- Intelligent scene recognition technology
- Advanced image management functionality – search for photos by date and smile. Images can be displayed by date or in a calendar view
- Slideshow function with photos selected using advanced filtering techniques
- Available in champagne, red, black, and silver
- Available in April for $250
Sony DSC-W130:
- 8.1 megapixel
- 4x optical zoom
- 2.5 inch LCD screens
- Available in Pink, Black, and Silver
- Available in March for $230
Sony DSC-W120:
- 7.1 megapixel
- 4x optical zoom
- 2.5 inch LCD screens
- Available in Pink, Blue, Black, and Silver
- Available in March for approximately $200 dollars
