Fujifilm introduced a number of new digital camera models today so let’s start with their newest addition to their F-Series lineup – the compact Fujifilm FinePix F100fd. Features of the F100fd include a 12 megapixel eight generation Super CCD with a Fujinon 5.0x wide angle optical zoom lens and a 2.7 inch high resolution 230,000 pixel wide angle view LCD display. Consumers looking for something more than your average point and shoot digital camera will certainly be interested in the F100fd. Here are a list of some of the new technologies and features found in the F100fd:

  • Wide dynamic range brought over from the FinePix S5 Pro camera
  • Face Detection 3.0 technology featuring automatic red eye removal – capable of detecting up to 10 human faces in a scene in as little as 0.36 seconds, automatically correcting focus, exposure, and white balance
  • Dual Image Stabilization mode with high ISO sensitivities for anti-blur protection
  • Utilize ISO settings up to ISO 3200 at full resolution and ISO 12800 at reduced resolution
  • Continuous shooting – top/final 3 at 1.7 frames per second at full resolution and top/final 12 at 5 frames per second at 3 megapixels
  • High speed playback – display images at full resolution at 10 frames per second
  • Portrait Enhancer Mode – minimizes fine lines and small skin blemishes
  • Dual Shot Mode – shoots two images in rapid succession – one with flash and one without and saves both
  • Special Scene – 16 pre-programmed scenes including a special underwater scene mode for use with a special underwater casing. Also comes with special blog mode for automatically reducing the size of copied images for easy posting to a blog, webpage or email
  • Micro thumbnail – allows for viewing an index style print on the LCD – show up to 100 images in micro form
  • IrSimple – infrared communication via IrSimple technology for fast easy wireless image transfer to a compatible device
  • Support for xD/SD/SD-HC

The Fujifilm FinePix F100fd will come out in March of 2008 for $379.95.
