Time for us to shift our focus over to Dell where they had a number of their recently introduced products on display including the XPS One, and the World of Warcraft Edition XPS M1730.

Here are pictures of that awesome looking all-in-one PC – the Dell XPS One.

I’ve heard many good things about the XPS One but nothing compares to actually seeing the system in person. If I needed a compact system that would look great in nearly any room in the household, then the XPS One is that system. Sorry Apple, but the iMac doesn’t even compare to the gorgeous XPS One.

General specs include:

  • 20 inch widescreen display
  • Integrated webcam and microphone
  • Proximity touch-sensitive media controls that light up

For $1499 you get the following:

  • Intel Core 2 Duo Processor Model E4500 processor running at 2.2 GHz
  • Windows Vista Home Premium
  • 2GB of RAM
  • 250GB HD
  • Integrated HD TV Tuner with Remote Control
  • Wireless support

For $1999 you get:

  • Intel Core 2 Duo Processor Model E6550
  • Windows Vista Home Premium
  • 2GB RAM
  • Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007
  • 2 year service

On the mobile front – remember when Dell announced the World of Warcraft Edition for the XPS M1730? Well I managed to get some up close and personal pics of the laptop and man – it was one sweet looking system. Here are the pics:

Just look at that beautiful cover. I certainly appreciate the look of the notebook and heck – I don’t even play WoW!! As far as features and specs are concerned, the system comes with:

  • Choice of either Intel Core 2 Duo or Intel Core 2 Extreme Processors
  • Windows Vista Ultimate OS
  • 17 inch widescreen UltraSharp WUXGA display with support for 1920 x 1200 resolutions
  • AGEIA PhysX Accelerator
  • Dual NVIDIA SLI GeForce Go 8700M GS graphics
  • 512MB of dedicated video RAM and two x16 graphics channels
  • Built-in Logitech GamePanel LCD that shows off in-game stats
  • Illuminated full size keyboard – even comes with a 10 key number pad
  • Customized Warcraft packaging and tons of World of Warcraft materials.
  • Up to 4GB of RAM
  • 2 SATA HDD for up to 500GB of storage space
  • Optional RAID 0 and RAID 1 support

Here’s one more Dell system to talk about – the Dell XPS 420 desktop system with an integrated 2.5 inch LCD display on top featuring support for Windows SideShow. Prices for the Dell XPS 420 start in at around $999 and the system features:

  • Intel Core 2 Quad Processor Q6600 processor (though you can get Intel Core 2 Duo processors too)
  • Windows Vista Home Premium
  • 3GB RAM
  • 320GB SATA HDD
  • 128 or 256 MB ATI Radeon graphics (either 2400 on the $999 model or HD2600 on the $1499 model)
  • Optional Blu-ray drive
  • Optional Dell Xcelerator which helps get video content converted for your portable media player by up to 25% faster

Perhaps the most interesting thing about the XPS 420 is the built in 2.5 inch LCD screen which resides on top of the chassis. Since we’re looking at a mid-tower system, the screen looks best when the system is sitting on the floor but you can certainly place the system on a desktop and have the display be somewhat effective. The secondary LCD display works as a Windows SideShow display allowing you to show Windows Gadgets including stock prices, calendar information, etc.

More on Dell shortly…
