Yes – Powerline networking is still around and this time IOGEAR utilizes it to transmit audio from a single source to multiple rooms in the house. The IOGEAR Powerline Audio System allows you to connect three different music sources simultaneously and users can access their favorite music by connecting an amplified speaker to the adapter from any room in the home. Here’s a picture of the audio adapter which is connected to a power socket. You then connect the audio adapter to a set of speakers via the RCA cables.
The docking station comes with an iPod connection, a 3.5 mm input jack, and a set of RCA Left and Right channel inputs which means you can basically connect any kind of audio source to the docking station and share it around the home via your powerline.
The system supports up to 4 Audio Adapters in the home and you’ll even be able to remote control your iPod (controls include play/pause/forward/backward).
