Now here’s a portable device with the potential of being a god send to road warriors out there who are constantly giving presentations to clients and customers. It’s the Microvision SHOW – a stand-alone pico projector powered by the company’s proprietary ultra-miniature PicoP display engine. The SHOW has the shape of a small PDA-like device yet is capable of projecting a widescreen WVGA (848 x 480) DVD quality image from 12 inches to 100 inches in size depending upon the projection distance.

The Microvision SHOW connects directly to laptops, mobile phones, portable media players, digital cameras, and other mobile devices. A production version of the SHOW is expected to offer approximately 2.5 hours of continuous battery life.

The commercial release of the SHOW is targeted for the end of 2008. In the meantime, the SHOW will be on display at CES 2008. Goodness,  I hope my company gets one of these devices so I won’t have to lug around a projector anymore.
