Ethereal HDMI-CAT5D sends HDMI signals over CAT5/6 cabling
Running long stretches of HDMI cable throughout your home can be an expensive proposition. One alternative to this is the Ethereal Home Theater HDMI-CAT5D System which leverages CAT5/6 cabling commonly found in homes today (and if not, is inexpensive to purchase and deploy). The system sends HDMI signals down two unshielded CAT5/SE or CAT6 cables and consists of Tx(send) and Rx(receive) units and two networking (RJ45) type connectors at each end for an easy-to-install and service interface. The HDMI-CAT5D system works with CAT5 cable lengths up to 75 feet, CAT5E cable lengths up to 100 feet and CAT6 cable lengths up to 200 feet.
The HDMI-CAT5D system utilizes Leviton Decora-style wall plates and is intended for in-wall installations. The unit can be purchased on the Ethereal for $535.99.
