ASUS is set to deliver a new ultra-mobile PC product in the form of the R50A. According to ASUS, the R50A “is the first UMPC that reaches the full potential of the platform”. Lofty statement isn’t it? ASUS plans on integrating a GPS receiver, a webcam, 3G/3.5G connectivity, and full notebook functionality into a single super portable platform with the R50A. 

Here are the key features thus far:

• Customizable mission-based application launcher organizes software programs into categories and make navigation simpler
• Built-in TV tuner
• 3G/3.5G connectivity
• Integrated webcam and microphone for capturing photos, videos, and audio wherever they are
• Comes with ASUS InfoPen software – users can record and edit on the 1024 x 600 resolution display as they would on a piece of paper
• Integrated GPS
