Earlier in the week, Samsung introduced their latest compact digital camera in the form of the Samsung i85. The i85 is the third model in Samsung’s digital camera product lineup to feature PMP functionality allowing users to enjoy movies, music videos, television shows, and music.  The i85 also includes a unique World Tour Guide function which provides users with travel information from 4500 regions in 30 different countries.

Features of the Samsung i85 include the following:

• 8.2 megapixel sensor with 5x optical zoom lens
• Integrated MP3 player and portable multimedia player
• Integrated world tour guide
• Camcorder, text viewer, voice recorder, portable disk functionaloty
• 3 inch TFT LCD screen with 230K resolution
• Face Detection AF and AE
• i-Movie (MPEG-4, SVGA quality – 800 x 592)
• Advanced Shake Reduction
• SDHC/SD card support

The camera comes with Samsung’s Digimax Converter software which converts MPEG, AVI, MOV, WMV, and ASF files for viewing on the i85. Finally, other features include 14 scene modes (Night, Portrait, Children, Landscape, Close-Up, Text, Sunset, Dawn, Backlight, Fireworks, Beach & Snow, Café, Food, and Self-Shot), 256MB of internal memory, and a “Fun” feature which lets you create a composite photo by saving up to four individual images as one. The Samsung i85 has an MSRP of $299.
