Sony launches the Graphic Splash Eco Edition notebooks to help the environment
In an attempt to be a bit more eco-aware, Sony is launching a new version of their popular VAIO FZ notebooks called the Sony Graphic Splash Eco Edition Notebooks. These new notebooks come in four new designs inspired by nature – Caribbean Water, Clay Earth, Spotted Life, and Bloom. So how do these notebooks help the environment? Well Sony is participating in the “1% For the Planet” alliance which is a group of businesses committed to creating a healthier environment. What this translates to is the following: Sony will donate one percent of the price of each Graphic Splash Eco Edition notebook purchased to non-profit organizations working to preserve the environment.
In addition, Sony will also offer rebates to consumers who trade in their old used PC’s. All you’ll need to do is bring your used PC to a Sony Style store to be recycled and the store will issue you credit towards a new VAIO notebook.
Features of the new Graphic Splash Eco Edition notebooks include the following:
- Slim design
- Easy to recycle materials used for resource conservation
- Packaging comprised primarily of recyclable materials
- RoHS compliant components – free of hazardous materials such as lead
- Free recycling – Sony branded products
- Rechargeable battery recycling program offered at Sony Style stores and participating retailers
These new notebooks will be available in limited quantities at www.sony.com/eco starting early this month for a starting price of $1391.
