Sony Ericsson introduces the MD300 Mobile Broadband Modem
Targeting the mobile professional, Sony Ericsson has announced the new MD300 – their first mobile broadband product with a USB interface. Simply put, the Sony Ericsson MD300 is a mobile broadband modem that connects to your PC’s standard USB port giving you Internet access via HSDPA, UMTS, EDGE or GPRS networks. Microsoft Windows software and drivers are built right into the modem so the card installs and configures itself when plugged right into your system. Features of the MD300 include the following:
- USB 2.0 support
- Measures 70 x 32.5 x 15 mm
- Supports HSDPA/UMTS, EDGE/GPRS
- Integrated antenna design
- HSDPA at up to 3.6 Mbps
- Quad band EDGE/GSM
- Supports Windows 2000, XP, Vista, Mac OS X
The MD300 will be available in luxury black and metallic silver in select markets starting in Q1 of 2008.
