Having switched to a new desktop computer here at home, I’ve forgotten how much of a memory hog Windows Vista is out of the box. That new HP box that I purchased (the HP Pavilion Slimline s3200n) comes with 1GB of RAM.. which is really the first system in quite some time where I’ve only used 1GB of RAM.. and my goodness, Vista is a DOG with 1GB of RAM. I upgraded my new system with 2 sticks of 1GB PC5300 DDR2 memory during the week and the difference is like night and day. The 3D goodness in Vista is indeed nice at times.. but is really worth the resource consumption? I’m not so sure…
