Samsung introduces GPS enabled SGH-i550 running Symbian OS
The folks at AVING USA have some pictures of the newly announced Samsung SGH-i550. What’s particularly interesting about the i550 is the software platform running the phone – it’s the first Samsung GPS phone to use the Symbian OS – in this case the Symbian OS v. 9.2 and the S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 1. The SGH-i550 offers voice activated turn by turn guidance which of course is great for car drivers out there. There’s also a pedestrian mode which offers specific locations and directions at walking speeds.
Features of the i550 include the following:
- HSDPA 3.6 Mbps support
- Web browser
- 128MB RAM
- 2.6 inch LCD display
- 3.2 megapixel digital camera
- 150 MB of internal storage space
- Integrated FM Radio
The SGH-i550 is due in Europe this November. No word on pricing.
