It was a big day for Nokia today as they announced a slew of new mobile phones and service initiatives. I’ll start things off by going over each of the new mobile phone announcements separately. First up is the newly announced Nokia N81 and N81 8GB. Features of the N81 include:
- 2.4 inch QVGA 320 x 240 resolution display with 16.7 million colors
- Symbian OS version 9.2
- Dedicated music and gaming keys
- 3.5 mm headphone connector
- 3G and WLAN connectivity
- Sleek, polished surface
- Keys that light up when activated
- 3D multimedia menu
- Configured to find, buy, manage, and play music and games purchased from the Nokia Music Store and N-Gage games service
- WCDMA 2100 + E850/900/1800/1900MHz
- Measures 102 x 50 x 17.9 mm
- Hot swappable microSD memory card slot
- 240 minute talk time
- 17 day standby time
- 4.5 hour video playback time
- 5 hour browsing time
- 11.5 music playback time
- 3.5 hour video recording time
- 6 hour gaming time
- Voice commands and voice recorder
- Speaker independent name dialing
- Bluetooth 2.0
- 2 megapixel digital camera with 20x digital zoom
- Estimated price for the N81 is 360 EUR
- Estimated price for the N81 8GB is 430 EUR
Both versions are expected in the fourth quarter of this year.
