cd anniversary Did you realize that the Compact Disc has been around for 25 years now? That’s right – the CD is celebrating its 25th anniversary this month (it actually turned 25 this past Friday) and while things have certainly changed over the last decade, the compact disc has certainly left its mark in the music industry and in the media industry in general. I still remember my very first CD purchase. I was in High School and the album was “When in Rome” by.. well “When in Rome”. The song I wanted to get – “The Promise”. The rest is history for me.. in fact, I believe the first few albums I got on CD were from Information Society, The Pet Shop Boys, and New Order. Yes.. I was your typical New Wave Junkie in the 80’s :)
