Growing up in NYC, the bag of choice back in HS was the Manhattan Portage messenger bag. But over time, my tastes expanded to include the likes of Timbuk2 and of course Crumpler (gotta love that name if you ask me). I currently own a Crumpler messenger bag but this new bag from Timbuk2 is certainly drawing my attention now. It’s called the “Hacker” bag and it’s actually a combination messenger bag / backpack. You can basically wear like it like a standard messenger bag OR if you feel like carrying a backpack instead, you can attach a strap and convert it into a backpack. Features of this $120 dollar bag include:
- Panel pocket with organizer and red key tether
- Adjustable shoulder strap with removable strap pad
- Two main zip compartments
- Waterproof liner
- Reflector tabs
- Ballistic nylon
- Grab handle
- Padded, corduroy-lined laptop compartment
- Molded back panel
- Full flap closure with dual buckles
- Waterproof, rubberized bottom with safety flasher attachment loop
The Timbuk2 Hacker is available in two color combinations – navy/slate blue/navy and all black.
