Logitech introduces the G51 Surround Sound Speaker System
Logitech is introducing a new gaming oriented surround sound speaker system called the G51. It’s a 5.1 speaker system featuring 360 degree surround sound along with dual Matrix modes for an immersive gaming experience.
The G51 Surround Sound Speaker System provides a surround sound experience whether or not the original source audio was multi-channel or not. Thanks to the dual Matrix technology, gamers will be able to create and enjoy 5.1 surround sound from regular two channel stereo sources.
Features of the new Logitech G51 Surround Sound Speaker System include:
- Two Matrix surround modes for classic stereo games or music
- Headphone and microphone jacks with independent music controls. Jacks reside on a control pod which feature silicone feet for grip.
- Satellite speakers can be customized with your favorite game art or to match your existing gear
- Comes with a ported down-firing subwoofer
- Delivers 155 watts of total RMS (root mean square) power
- Features Frequency Dual Driver (FDD2) technology which produces a uniform soundfield by housing two drivers in each satellite speaker. FDD2 overcomes high-frequency overlap that leads to uneven sound
- Satellite stands can be rotated and the center channel can be clipped to the top of an LCD monitor
Thanks to Logitech’s proprietary Matrix surround sound technology, the G51 speakers can split the audio signal into six channels of sound without degrading the audio quality.
The Logitech G51 Surround Sound Speaker System is expected in October for an MSRP of $199.99.
