Canon introduces new PowerShot G9 Digital Camera
It’s ironic that Canon would introduce a new PowerShot G series digital camera this weekend – my two year old G6 had some problems this weekend making me think that it might be time for an upgrade! The latest G series PowerShot from Canon is the new PowerShot G9. The G9 comes in a matter black, retro design with a simplified control layout which is versatile and easy to understand. It’s loaded with the latest Canon technology enhancements including RAW mode which is normally reserved for high end digital SLR cameras.
Features of the new Canon PowerShot G9 includes:
- 12.1 megapixel resolution
- 6x optical zoom lens
- Canon’s Optical Image Stabilizer system
- Review and compare photos for printing with Canon’s Image Inspection Tool
- RAW mode
- 23 shooting modes including Automatic, Manual, Shutter-speed Priority, Aperture Priority, two custom modes, and special scene modes like Portrait, Landscape, Night Scene, Sports, Indoor, Beach and Snow
- DIGIC III Image Processor
- Face Detection Technology
- Three inch PureColor LCD II screen
- Compatible with Canon wide-angle, telephoto, and macro supplementary lens
- Compatible with Canon compact photo printers
- Supports MMC, SD, SDHC cards
The new PowerShot G9 will be available in October for $499.99.
