Canon introduces new line – PowerShot SX100 IS
There’s a new PowerShot line in the midst and it’s called the Canon PowerShot SX100 IS. The new SX100 IS digital camera features an 8 megapixel resolution, 10x optical zoom, DIGIC III image processor, a large 2.5 inch LCD display, Canon Optical Image Stabilizer, and an extended grip. Here’s a quick summary of features and specs for the new Canon PowerShot SX100 IS:
- 8 megapixel resolution
- 10x Optical Zoom lens
- Canon Optical Image Stabilizer technology
- Record VGA movies in two different 30 fps recording modes – standard for maximum image quality and a new 640 LP mode for maximum recording time and reduced file sizes
- Record videos at up to one hour at a time or 4GB per clip – whichever comes first
- 2.5 inch wide angle LCD display
- 19 shooting modes – ranging from fully automatic to fully manual. Modes include Auto, Program, Shutter-Priority, Aperture-Priority and Manual, as well as special scene modes including Portrait, Landscape, Night Scene, Sports, and Kids & Pets
- Advanced Face Detection – including ability to track multiple human faces in a scene
- Support for MMC, SD, and SDHC cards
The new SX100 IS will be available in either black or silver starting in October. Estimated price is $299.99.
