HTC to launch new touch-controlled smartphones
It looks like HTC isn’t stopping with the HTC Touch. The Taiwanese based Windows Smartphone manufacturer is expected to launch their second touch-screen controlled smartphone this fall in the form of the HTC P5500 (code-named Nike). Nike will feature support for 3.5G connectivity, use a CPU from Samsung, and contain WCDMA support via Qualcomm chipsets.
According to DigiTimes, shipments of the first generation HTC Touch are expected to reach one million units by the end of this year – not too shabby – especially in light of the iPhone onslaught. Finally, HTC is expected to also launch another touch-screen controlled smartphone following the P5500 – code-named Vogue. All we know about the Vogue is it will support CDMA X1 EVDO and will be available in the Americas.
