HP’s iPAQ product lineup is in the news again today as the company is rumored to be launching new iPAQ series PDAs, phones, and 3G GPS PDAs. DigiTimes is reporting that HP is expected to launch their new iPAQ products during the fourth quarter of this year – thanks to sources in Taiwanese manufacturing industry. The company has ramped up contacts with various Taiwanese manufacturers including Quanta Computer, Inventec Appliances, and Foxconn International Holdings. One company notably absent from the list is HTC which is now in the business of selling their own branded hardware. Finally, DigiTimes is reporting that HP might be cooperating with Verizon Wireless to offer a CDMA enabled PDA phone for the U.S. market.
Meanwhile, Ubergizmo has additional information on upcoming HP iPAQ mobile phones including an artist impression of the iPAQ 600. The phone will supposedly offer 3G data connectivity via HSDPA (if true – guess this isn’t the phone going to Verizon). Other features include:
- 2.8 inch touchscreen display
- Touch wheel
- Windows Mobile 6 Professional OS
- 520 MHz processor
- 128MB of RAM
- 3 megapixel digital camera
The phone is rumored to come out in September of this year.
