Fisher-Price Easy Link Internet Launch Pad delivers safe Internet experience for children
Fisher-Price has a new Internet related “toy” that’s both fun and safe for your kids and of course, your computer system. The product is called the “Easy Link Internet Launch Pad” and it hooks right into your PC’s USB port. The concept is super easy. Kids get an Easy Link character smart key for their favorite Fisher-Price character, and then plug it into the launch pad. Once plugged in, the launch pad will deliver the kid to the character’s official website, and ONLY their website. No pop-up ads will appear, and the child can’t go anywhere else on the Internet. In fact, the only way the child can go anywhere else is by putting in a different Easy Link character smart key.
Kids can navigate and play online games using the launch pad’s arrow keys or directly using the keyboard and mouse. The launch pad also blocks access to your PC’s desktop and hard drive so there’s no worry about your children accidentally deleting or installing programs. There’s even parental controls that limit how much online time children can have.
The system includes a USB cable, CD-ROM software, and three Easy Link character smart keys. At $30 dollars, this seems like an excellent, inexpensive way to control your children’s access to the Internet while at the same time providing a fun learning environment for them.
