CRbackRed_lg College students interested in Sony computing products should listen up. Sony has introduced a new program called “Sony Style Campus” which provides college students with personal computer product bundles as well as support services at reduced prices. The program will be available at both SonyStyle.com as well as Sony Style retail stores across the country.

Various products, resources, and promotions for the Sony Style Campus program include:

  • VAIO Bundles – Enjoy notebook bundles consisting of either the VAIO N or the VAIO CR series at lower prices. Bundle the notebook with a three year Extended Service Plan with Accidental Damage from Handling mouse, and carrying case, and save up to $300 dollars
  • Notebook Personalization – engrave your VAIO notebook to make it your own
  • Financing – Sony will offer special financing offers to college students
  • In-Store support – Sony has expanded service support at  their retail stores so students can bring their VAIO in for issues
  • Notebook Trade-In Program – Trade your old notebook system for credit towards a new one. You can determine the value of your old notebook using a calculator on SonyStyle.com. Then bring in your notebook and receive a discount off of your new PC or get a gift card for use at Sony Style.

For more information on various bundles and potential savings, make sure to check out the Sony Style website here. If you’re going to school and you’re considering a Sony VAIO system, this might very well be the best way to save money in getting that system.

Finally, I thought it would be fun to see what Sony would offer for my old IBM ThinkPad T40 system which comes with a 1.8 GHz Pentium M processor. They’re willing to give me $105 dollars in credit – not great but I wonder how much more I would be able to get through eBay?
