GearLog takes a look at Pinnacle’s PCTV HD Stick here on their website. The PCTV HD Stick is basically a small USB based NTSC/ATSC TV tuner. You simply plug the tuner into an available USB port, connect the included mini antenna and install the Pinnacle software. It’ll even work with Windows Media Center if you have that on your PC.

GearLog did mention that you’ll need a decently powerful machine to run this device on BUT if you have that and you live in an area where over-the-air HDTV is readily available, definitely check out the PCTV HD Stick. Here’s the verdict from GearLog:

Overall, the Pinnacle HD Stick is a great, low-cost, simple way to get HD and SD TV onto your PC. Just plug it in, install the software, and you’re good to go. It’s not a great portable TV solution though, which is, oddly, what the company seems to be marketing it for.
