Anyone who works with notebooks on a frequent basis will know the pleasures of working with a wireless mouse. I’d use a mouse any day over a trackpad or a pointing stick on a notebook. The problem with carrying wireless mice? The USB receiver that comes with the mouse. They tend to stick out like a sore thumb – usually requiring you to  remove them when you’re done with using your notebook. Logitech has introduced a new product designed to remedy that situation – it’s called the VX Nano Cordless Laser Mouse for Notebooks and it comes with what they call a “Plug-and-Forget” Nano-receiver.

The VX Nano mouse’s plug-and-forget nano-receiver is the world’s smallest USB receiver for mice ( at least as of March 1st of this year). When the receiver is plugged into your notebook, it’s nearly flush against the notebook – no need to unplug the receiver anymore!

Features of the VX Nano mouse include:

  • Ultra portable design – slips easily into your notebook bag
  • Hyper-fast scrolling – scroll through long documents at fast speeds using the nearly frictionless scroll wheel or shift instantly to precise scrolling
  • Forward/Backward buttons - allows you to navigate browsers
  • Five programmable buttons – customizable through SetPoint software
  • Optical laser precision
  • Click to click scrolling feature
  • 6 month battery life (comes with on/off switch)

Features of the Nano receiver include:

  • Plug and forget nano receiver – unobtrusive receiver
  • 2.4 GHz wireless support
  • Comes with protective pouch for both mouse and receiver

The Logitech VX Nano Cordless Laser Mouse for Notebooks has an MSRP of $69.99 (though their product page says $79.99) and is expected in the U.S. and Europe in late August
