iogear wireless desktop

At first glance, IOGEAR’s Wireless Desktop – model GKM531RA – seems like yet another wireless keyboard and mouse combination. You get a USB receiver which is capable of communicating to both the keyboard and the mouse at distances of up to six feet away. The wireless optical mouse features a resolution of 800 dpi while the wireless keyboard comes with hotkeys for quick access to common user tasks such as launching email, controlling volume, playing/pausing music etc etc.

Sounds pretty straightforward – that is until you hear the product comes with a protective antimicrobial nano coating. The coating is made of Titanium Dioxide (TiO2) and Silver (Ag) which helps to deactivate enzymes and proteins of bacteria – helping to basically kill bacteria that might be on the keyboard or mouse. This is particularly important if your keyboard and mouse are used by many individuals. Heck it’s even important when you’re not sharing your desktop since we all know our hands are one of the dirtiest parts of our body. This antimicrobial feature alone makes the IOGEAR Wireless Desktop combination interesting. Other features include:

  • Nano Shield tested and proven effective to protect product from bacteria surviving on the surface
  • Heavy metal free – no skin irritation
  • 800 dpi mouse
  • 6 feet wireless range
  • Ultra thin keyboard
  • Hot keys for most common functions
  • Rechargeable mouse batteries
