  That&#039;s a good question. I don&#039;t know the exact answer but I&#039;m pretty sure both drives would have data on them since the drives themselves are combined into one logical drive from the users perspective. Therefore - losing one drive would probably mean losing a portion of your data but not necessarily contiguous data. I&#039;m just guessing though. I need to look into this a bit more to be sure. However, I think this is the case because if I try and remove a drive from an existing Home Server, the system will first copy any data on the drive to the other drives. 

For those worried about disk failures, then it would be a good idea to perform the data duplication feature. (except the data corruption bug is still out there at this time).</description>

If I have a two disk system and im not using duplication on my shares does it just fill up one disk ?

And what happends if one disk fails do you lose everything like with a spanned volume?</description>
