Western Digital introduces WD RE2 750GB SATA HDD with 1.2 million hour MTBF
Western Digital announced a new enterprise class Serial ATA (SATA) 750GB hard drive this week called the WD RE2 (RAID Edition). The WD RE2 750GB features a 3.0 Gb/s data transfer rate, native command queuing (NCQ) and 16MB of cache. The drive targets the enterprise community by delivering an amazing reliability rating of 1.2 million hours MTBF (Mean Time Before Failure)
Key features of the WD RE2 750GB include the following:
- 1.2 million hours MTBF
- 750GB storage capacity
- 3 Gb/s transfer rate
- Native command queuing (NCQ)
- 16MB cache
- Active Power Save conserves power in active seek modes without performance degradations
- RAID-specific time limited error recovery
