ExtremeTech reviews the Logitech MX Air Rechargeable Cordless Air Mouse
ExtremeTech published a review of the Logitech MX Air Rechargeable Cordless Air Mouse here on their website. When I first saw the product name, I thought – “Air Rechargeable? What the heck??” – well in fact, it’s probably better expressed as “MX Air – Rechargeable Cordless Air Mouse”. So why call it air? This mouse is similar to the the Gyration product line in that you can use the mouse both on a smooth surface or in the air using hand gestures. The mouse utilizes motion sensing technology to transform hand motions into natural responsive cursor controls.
Features of the Logitech MX Air include:
- Optical laser mouse
- Freespace motion sensing – browse and play your favorite media. Adjust your volume by simply waving to the right or left, skip tracks with the flick of a wrist
- Scroll panel – fast scrolling at the touch of a finger - on a desk or in the air
- Easy control of PC based entertainment
- Li-Ion battery
- 2.4 GHz wireless technology
This could be a good complement to someone’s home theater PC system (although most Windows Media Center based systems already work well with remote controls).
Here’s the verdict from ExtremeTech:
It is the best media center mouse out there, but buy it solely for in-air navigation.
