iphone

Contrary to some of the initial rumors out there, PC World is reporting that the first versions of the Apple iPhone to hit Europe will indeed support EDGE and Wi-Fi – just like the versions here in the US. Early rumors had the iPhone supporting European 3G networks but that appears to be false at this time.

Gartner analyst, Carolina Milanesi, stated that the iPhone would be carried by multiple vendors in Europe since no one carrier covers all of Europe. The first European iPhones could ship as early as October with T-Mobile in Germany reportedly selling their version by November 1st. Apple is reportedly committed to providing iPhones for the UK, Germany and France thus far – it’s unclear when countries like Spain and Italy will receive the iPhone at this time.
