toshiba to support 24p Toshiba has announced that they will be releasing a firmware update for some of their second generation HD DVD players bringing 24p support to these players. The affected players are the Toshiba HD-XA2 and the HD-A20. The low end HD-A2 will not support this feature. The current HD DVD players from Toshiba support 30p playback but some video/movie purists have been asking for 24p support (which is found in some Blu-ray players out there). Note – to really enjoy 24p (or 24 frames per second), you’ll want a display that is able to support the framerate – this means something like a new 120Hz LCD display. 60Hz displays will still convert the frame rate to something the display can support.
