Speaking of the Nintendo Wii – if you’re thinking that there would be more than enough inventory for the holiday season – think again! Nintendo announced that the Wii console will still be scarce for the holiday season. Basically – if you find a Wii and you want one – then buy it then and there. Don’t expect a price drop and don’t expect the console to still be there after a few hours.

Nintendo also announced that there would be approximately 100 new games for the Wii for the coming holiday season as well as several new controllers including a pistol style controller (called the Wii Zapper) and a pressure sensing mat (called the Balance Board). The mat will be able to sense when a person moves and leans, letting players head virtual soccer balls that are thrown at them. A steering wheel is also planned for the first half of next year.
