Microsoft Zune "Live At The BBQ" in Los Angeles
I’m a bit sunburned right now. Why? I just spent 7 hours in the sun at the Microsoft Zune “Live At The BBQ” event held in Los Angeles State Historic Park. This was the first of three free concerts being held by the Microsoft Zune team in the hopes of bringing music back to the community.
The concert started at around 2pm (though realistically the first act was at 3pm) and didn’t end until 9pm. The original artist lineup was as follows:
- DJ Reflex (2-3pm)
- DJ Mr Choc/C-Minus (3-3:30pm)
- Collie Buddz (3:30-4pm)
- Change over to act 2 DJ Mr Choc/C-Minus (4-4:15pm)
- E-40 (4:15-4:45pm)
- Change over to act 3 DJ Mr Choc/C-Minus (4:45-5pm)
- David Banner (5-5:30pm)
- Change over to act 4 DJ Mr Choc/C-Minus (5:30-5:45pm)
- UGK (5:45-6:30pm)
- Change over to act 5 DJ Mr Choc/C-Minus (6:30-6:45pm)
- To Be Determined (6:45-7:30pm)
- Change over to act 6 DJ Mr Choc/C-Minus (7:30-8pm)
- Common (8-8:45pm)
- Show ends at 9pm
They never did have the TBD performer but that’s ok – they were running behind schedule anyhow.
Aside from the hip-hop music being played, there were plenty of other activities going on including an Xbox 360/Zune Air Conditioned tent, Food stations, and a basketball competition.
Media was allowed to record a good portion of the concert on video so you should be seeing concert clips soon on YouTube. I’ll try and get my video clips online soon enough – it’s taking me some time to process them on my PC.
In the meantime, here are some pictures that I took from the concert. Enjoy!
I wrote up part 1 of my coverage over at ZuneSphere.com here.
