Acer begins testing retail market for Aspire 5920G
DigiTimes is reporting that Acer has quietly begun testing the retail market for its consumer notebook product line by selling the Gemstone-design Acer Aspire 5920G at BestBuy retail locations. Acer calls the 5920G a “Gemstone” notebook design in the hopes of equating the notebook to high end expensive gems and stones. Prices for the 5920G are starting at $1299 at BestBuy locations.
The Acer Aspire 5920G features:
- Holographic 3D finish featuring a dark satin-finish sub layer with Acer logo floating above it
- Opalesque colors
- Dolby Home Theater support
- Sapphire blue Aspire nameplate
- CeramiFinish interior design with light, pearl gray shade

- NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT GPU with 1GB of TurboCache
