Here’s some interesting news from TUAW (The Unofficial Apple Weblog): Apple has apparently filed for a patent (entitled “Touch Pad with symbols based on mode”)that depicts an iPod like device with a clickwheel interface. Now what’s unique is the display – there’s a picture of an old style rotary dial interface on the screen. Could this be a sign of what’s to come? Are we looking at a new lower end iPhone device? Or could Apple be simply patenting ideas just in case someone else wanted to create something similar? Who knows but it’s wonderful food for thought for the weekend (ok I’m sure many of you have far better things to do though).
