Courtest of Reuters Dell is looking to expand its retail presence by negotiating deals with retail shops and stores all across the Asia region. The company is hoping to capitalize on the PC industry’s growth in the Asian region to help propel Dell back to the numberĀ one spot in overall PC sales. Dell is currently second behind HP which took over the number one spot after cutting prices and boosting sales of consumer oriented PCs. According to this Reuter’s article, Paul-Henri Ferrand, head of Dell operations in the Asia Pacific region (excluding Japan, China, and South Korea), mentioned that the company was in talks “with some retail chains and specialized stores across Asia but gave no names.”

Dell is looking to customize their sales approach on a country by country basis – noting that different retail chains and stores would be used for selling low and high end systems in different countries.
