transformers I think it’s an exciting day for folks from my generation (and I’ll simply say that I’m in my early 30′s ok?). Why? Well it’s the opening day to Transformers the movie of course! That awesome cartoon/comic book series from the 80′s has finally.. FINALLY landed on the big screen. Yeah the Autobots and Decepticons look a tad bit different than from the original series.. but that’s ok. The basic concept/premise is the same and that’s really what is important here. Now for those of you wondering what the ratings are like for the movie – head on over to RottenTomatoes.com. The current overall score for the movie is 60 % as of the time of this writing.

The one sure thing about releasing a movie like the Transformers is - you’re going to make a bundle off of the toys and merchandising. To that end, you should check out this listing of top Transformer toy picks over at CNET’s Crave blog. Some of their picks include:

Ok.. I’m not entirely sure about the Mr. Potato Head character.. but nevertheless, it’s an interesting list of new toys for the Transformers lineup. To be honest – nothing beats the original die cast toys that Hasbro used to make in the 80′s. Hopefully I’ll get a chance to watch the film tomorrow night. In the meantime.. I just have to say this (and yes.. I’m a complete Transformers geek here for doing so)..

“Autobots.. Transform and ROLL OUT”

Ha.. I love that line.
