Gee.. membership sure has its privileges. Apple held a town hall meeting with employees on Thursday announcing that all full time Apple employees would be getting a free 88GB iPhone. Part time employees who have been with the company for over a year will also be getting a free iPhone. The phones will be given to the employees by the end of July – after the consumer rush is over. The folks at ThinkSecret dug info that Apple has 17,787 full time employees (they got it from Yahoo! Finance)

Finally, ThinkSecret also reported on some unconfirmed iPhone unit counts. According to this article, Apple has readied approximately 3 million iPhone units with 1 million being made available tomorrow. iPhone availability will be released in stages – ensuring enough inventory to meet demand.
