mpa If you’re an owner of a Shure Sound Isolating Earphones and you were wondering how your earphones would work in conjunction with the upcoming Apple iPhone, well don’t fret. Shure has introduced a new product that will help bridge the Earphones with devices like the iPhone and it’s called the Shure Music Phone Adapter. The Music Phone Adapter combines a VoicePort Microphone with control buttons that let users answer and end phone calls without touching the phone. The Shure Sound Isolating Earphones then simply plug right into the Music Phone Adapter which plugs into the iPhone and there you have it – a complete solution. (Although.. it does seem a bit clunky to have to deal with so many wires.)

Features of the MPA include:

  • Low profile VoicePort microphone – tuned to enhance “intelligibility” despite background noise
  • Control button to send and end phone calls. With many phones, the button can activate call waiting, last number redial, voice dialing and more
  • Detachable module design

It’s priced at $39.99 and the first release will be the MPA-3c which is due out in August of 2007.
