Nintendo is going the route of Microsoft by making available a set of development tools called WiiWare that allow game developers to create games for the Nintendo Wii platform. Games created using WiiWare can then be downloaded directly to the Nintendo Wii via the Wii Shop Channel. This provides individuals and small groups of game developers the same opportunity to try and strut their game development talent. These very same game developers will also have the opportunity to make some cash by selling these games directly on the Wii Shop Channel. You can expect to see these games arriving early next year.
